This quarter I decided to read Blood of Olympus as my independent reading book. I chose this book because it was a really long time since the first time I read it so I wanted to remember it. While reading it I remembered all the feelings I went through, the thoughts I had and that little details that had been forgotten but make the story's plot a bit more interesting. The story is set at two places, a journey from Europe to America and a flight from Rome to Athens. The seven demigods that are riding a boat towards Athens are following a prophecy that in riddles says one of them will die. A lot of gods confirm this prophecy and say there is nothing to do about it, but the book tells how the demigods try to survive. The other demigods traveling from Europe to America have a different mission: stopping a war almost the day the battle will begin. These brave demigods have to encounter all kind of trouble to get through their mission without knowing which if them dies or if the prophecy is preventable, and that is the plot of Blood Of Olympus.
Blood Of Olympus, as I already said, is a very awesome book to read, as it mixes up different topics that are completely different from one another but mix perfectly. The books is totally worth reading, with Rick Riordan's description and his way to make you connect to the characters. With a lot of action and constant prophecies that leave you at suspense the author keeps you in a cycle of cliffhangers and climaxes, making you feel good along reading the story. Aside from this, the author used ancient themes to create a young adult novel that is completely interesting, which is quite a success I must add. I would personally give and highly recommend this book to my cousin Sarah, who lives in the US and loves to read just like I do. She and I used to read a lot together, and now it is my turn to tell her to read. I also fully recommend this book to people that like young adult fiction, as this book is one I highly recommend.
